I have not seen anything so superb in a long, long time. I was moved by the exquisite sensitivity and talent of each member of the ensemble. As I enjoyed the production I eagerly awaited the return of each cast member -- they are exceptionally strong actors so able to express nuance with their gestures and beautiful, beautiful voices. I saw "Songs for a New World" last Friday. It blew me away. I'm not really a musical lover or fan, but it was so unconventional, touching, entertaining and funny. I really urge you to see it. The main theme is taking the leap into the unknown, but they deal with so many intertwining stories that you will be touched in some way. Whether dealing with a new relationship, an old one falling apart, the war with Iraq, feeling inconsequential in the world, being separated from what you love, or having Santa Claus as a husband... there are a thousand ways you can connect with this wonderfully sung and performed piece of theatre.
